Default Infusion

althought Prophecies is kind of lacking with all hte new campaigns etc. being released, this is still annoying.

When you get infused with a character, i think your CHARACTER should be infused, not your armor. That way if you buy a new set you don't have to redo infusion over and over.

That doesn't make sense. How does one go about infusing yourself? Do you go super mode or something? Anet at least tries to make their plot make sense...

Before we can say if that is possible or not, we need to know the method with which the seer applies the infusion to you. Since its a probably magic spell, just have the spell modified somehow so it.

If its a lotion of some sort, why doesn't the spectral agony slip through the holes in the armor ?

Besides, from a gameplay perspective, infusing the armor instead of the character is just annoying. For people with multiple headgears, if they want to try a build requiring a different headgear, they need to go infuse that. But the most common problem I've had is people who complete prophesies, get another armor set then come to help a guildie do THK only to find they are no longer infused.

So why keep infusion to the armor when it causes problems and doesn't seem to have much purpose ?

First of all, you get spectral essence from Eidolon, not octopus tentacles.

Secondly, combining your armor with these 'tentacles' makes more sense than infusing yourself. Otherwise GW will be fulled with Dr. Octopus

It wouldnt take much to change the system (I think) its a pain to get new armor infused. If you go from 1.5k and finally get your FoW you have to go all the way back either get a run for infusion or do it yourself.

and the eidolon is a octopus or squid looking creature.

It's not really hard to get to Mineral Springs or Iron Mines of Moladune.
And I don't think many people would have so many PvE armors that he would need more than 3 or 5 infusions.

The Eidolon is a [wiki]Phantom[/wiki]

And, I don't know you... but I'd rather cover my armor with that sticky remains than my own body. Eek...

Some of us (like myself ) have shedloads of different pieces of armour - different rune setups, minor and superior head switches, totally different sets of insignia etc.
It's a real drag to get each of my minor-element runed boots infused, you dig?

Besides, it's hardly that gross getting infused... them tentacles is spectral, I tells ya (... so *how* do you pick them up, anyways?)

You pick the tentacle, the essence is inside, and chosen ones can affect incorporeal creatures, like phantoms, spirits, etc...

Oh god yes. Its so goddamn annoying to have to get ran or fight there myself to just infuse something for like to 100th time.

They ought to add some sort of additional plus to being infused. It would encourage people to buy prophecies if they haven't already. All emphasis is placed on more and better features for the other campaigns, but no emphasis on prophecies. They should give a little boost for those who simply must have the very best armor.

It would be something stupid like +10% armor vs demons

If they make so... they should make lightbringer stuff work in all demons, not only in Nightfall ones, plus mursaat, Afflicted and Shiro'ken.

I agree that the annoyance of infusion runs exceed the annoyance of any plot hole created, but if a compromise must be made how about having all ascended armours as infused by default?

doesn't bother me a lot since the run is not hard (especially since hard mode appeared they made normal mode so dumb)
actually with the new campaigns out i always wanted an endgame prophesies armor which is bought infused
one for each profession
u can get ran to all outposts with elite prophesies armor and buy it at even lvl1 which is kinda sad
